I got home from work and there was a letter from David. WITH a return address. So I can write to him now. THEN he called me on the phone! AND I got to talk to his cousin Aaron who is right there with him in the same platoon. (or company.... or battalion.... I'm not really sure which word means what.)
Needless to say I'm a happy mommy right now :)

YAY! I'm happy for you. I know how much it means for you to be able to talk to David, and now to be able to write to him too. Great news!
Just a suggestion for David....
that he ensure that he gets email/IM/snail mail addresses for his closest friends during ALL THE PHASES of his military career. He may not realize it now, but in future years he'll want to know what they're up to.... I know I did/do.... I misplaced my lists and it was quite a process to track them down....
Again, extend my thanks for all he is doing and all he will do for our country !!!

I will definitely pass this on. I gave Dave a cool little fold out address book when he left. (With all of OUR addresses in it so he'd have no excuse:)
